About ConnectING
ConnectING is a digital portal designed to showcase Indo-German research cooperation. An initiative of the DWIH New Delhi and the DAAD Regional Office New Delhi, the portal aims to provide visibility, access, and a central point of reference for anyone interested in gaining an overview of Indo-German research and innovation cooperation.
It showcases ongoing research collaborations, presents information on funding programmes, and provides a space where institutions and researchers from India and Germany can connect directly.
The portal features a growing, non-exhaustive database of research cooperation projects, contributed voluntarily by institutions and researchers engaged in bilateral collaboration. It includes interactive features that allow users to explore projects on a map or filter them by research field, location, funding institution, and duration.
In addition, ConnectING offers an overview of funding programmes that support academic mobility, joint research, and institutional partnerships between India and Germany. The database highlights schemes offered by German, Indian, and European/EU organisations, making it easier to identify suitable opportunities.
About the organisations
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a not-for-profit organisation of German higher education institutions and their student bodies, financed by the German government. It awards grants and scholarships, supports the internationalisation of German universities, promotes German studies abroad, and advises decision-makers on matters of education and development policy. The DAAD Regional Office New Delhi is responsible for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
The DWIH New Delhi is a unit of the DAAD. It is a platform for exchange and networking between the Indian and German scientific communities and other stakeholders in research and innovation. It creates thematic dialogues between international stakeholders in research, politics, and industry. The DWIH provides information on the research systems of India and Germany and expertise in international cooperation for science administrators and policymakers. It is a network of 32 German research organisations, universities, funding bodies, and research-based companies.
